NCAS Championships

A great day at York for the Northern Counties Metric Clout. Warm, dry, with very little wind – were we really in Yorkshire? Katrina Horton, Tracy Cross and Chris Eccles won the Longbow County Team Award for Cheshire; Katrina, Steve Williams and I won the Longbow Club Team Award. Cheshire archers won overall on the day.

Cheshire Tri-Clout – Day 2

Last day at the Triclout and the weather was a bit kinder today for the Metric, a bit blowy and some light showers but much better than Saturday & Sunday. Katrina Horton, Chris Eccles and I won the Longbow Team Trophy, although Steve Williams could also have been in the team as he got the same score as me. I hadn’t shot well all weekend but thanks to some good advice from Chris at afternoon sighters I managed to score 21 more points in the afternoon compared to the morning! It was also great to see Keith Ledson at his first Triclout.

Elaine Jobson also had a great day with a 3 Clout end! Not bad with a longbow on a windy day!

A great day at the Cheshire Metric Clout.
Steve Williams is the Cheshire Gents Longbow Champion! Not only that but he gained his Purple Metric Tassel with a score that beat everyone, gents and ladies, Cheshire and visiting archers! A Grand Master Bowman score and only 6 points off the Cheshire Record.

Alison Williams was 3rd Cheshire Longbow Lady, Katrina Horton was 2nd Cheshire Longbow Lady and Chris Eccles was 3rd Cheshire Longbow Gent.
Steve, Katrina and Alison won the Club Team Longbow Award.
And we all had a lovely day with lots of laughs with great friends.

Cumbria Archery Double Double Clout

Great fun at the Cumbria Metrics at Penrith this weekend, but it was so hot! We usually moan about the wind but this time I would have welcomed a bit more.

All the Lady Longbows were on the same target which meant we had a riotous time!

Nina Horton was 2nd Lady Longbow and Steve Williams was 3rd Gent Longbow.

It’s a pity there wasn’t an ice-cream van there – it would have made a fortune!

Eagle Bowmen Weekend of Clout

A lovely weekend at Penrith for the Eagle Bowmen Clout.

A 2-way Imperial on Saturday and Metric on Sunday. The wind was blowing a hooley on both days (even worse on Sunday) but at least the rain held off.

We had a great time, even better because all the longbows were together on one target instead of spread out all along the line. So many laughs!

Katrina Horton and Chris Eccles came away with shinies and a large doorstop!
