After a couple of years absence, the Kendal Imperial Clout Weekend returned to challenge us.
It was a great weekend, with Saturdays weather much better than Sundays. Although, funnily enough, people shot better on the Sunday.
Congratulations to Katrina Horton, 1st Lady Longbow, Diane Jobson, 2nd Lady Longbow and Elaine Jobson, 3rd Lady Longbow. Congratulations also to Martin Leonard, 1st Gent Longbow, Chris Eccles, 2nd Gent Longbow and Ian Norwood, 3rd Gent Longbow.
A fantastic days shooting at The Flodden Marks today. Shooting with friends old and new and with perfect weather. An excellent turnout from The Longbow Club, with Sue and Pete Price, Josh McLaren, Sarah and Colin Cavanagh, Abbey and Ben Cavanagh, Katrina Horton and Chris Eccles. Congratulations to Ben Cavanagh 1st Junior Longbow and to Katrina Horton, 1st Lady Longbow. A great big thank you to Rebecca and Jason Stokes and The Flodden Crew for an superb day, a very challenging rove and free cake!
A good finish to the Northern Counties Clout Championships. Katrina Horton was 3rd Lady Longbow; she, Chris Eccles and Alison Williams won the Club Team Longbow award (Steve Williams tied with Chris today). Steve, Nina and Alison were the Cheshire Longbow Team today (yesterday it was Nina, Chris and Alison) and Cheshire won the overall Team Trophy for the first time in ages.
We all had great fun and it was lovely to see so many of our friends.
A Metric today on the final day of the Triclout. The wind was very difficult again but we all had a great time. Katrina Horton and Chris Eccles were both 3rd today and Katrina, Alison and Chris won the Longbow Supreme Champions Club Team trophy. Steve Williams’ longbow stand was much admired as usual!
A great day at the Blundellsands clout today with friends old and new.
The weather was not as windy as it usually is, and it was warm enough for shorts…..that is until just after the presentation as we were packing up, the heavens opened.
Congratulations to Katrina Horton 1st Lady Longbow and Longbow Team winner along with partner Chris Eccles.
A brilliant day roving with the Longbow Club. A bit chilly in the morning but the sun eventually came out and everyone had a great time. Delicious cakes from Nina, super soup from Sarah and flapjacks from Alison. Thank you to everyone that attended and to the members of The Longbow Club for all the effort to put on such a great day.
…a well organised Rove as always – well done everyone
…another enjoyable event, very well organised as usual. Thanks!
…I am just grateful for you all putting on the event and the very welcome homemade soups and cakes. You all deserve a pat on the back. I think we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
…First rove I’ve ever topped the list so pretty chuffed.
…A very big thank you to you and your colleagues for arranging an excellent and enjoyable Rove yesterday. Look forward to the next one.
…Thanks for an excellent day out today. Looking forward to your next shoot.
…just to say thank you for the shoot today. It was great fun, despite the glue failue on my arrow points
A fabulous day at the Kendal Longbow Western although numbers were down due to a flu outbreak.
Could not have asked for nicer weather as the sun shone all day. A huge thank you to Tony and Lorraine for all their hard work ensuring the event went ahead as planned.
Congratulations to Katrina Horton, 1st Lady, Helen Horsley for the most greens, Sarah Davenall for the most hits, Dave Whitham 1st Gent and winner of the Wand and to Chris Eccles, 2nd Gent.
