I would like to thank the members of The Longbow Club and everyone who attended the 7th Poulton Hall Rove.
We could not have asked for better weather, even escaping most of the rain that started just after the shoot. We hope that you enjoyed the day and look forward to welcoming you all back in April for the Geoff Trimble Memorial Rove.
A good end to the Northern Counties Clout Championships with Imperial today. Katrina Horton was 3rd Lady Longbow; she, Chris and I won the Longbow Teams Trophy; Cheshire won the overall County trophy. It was great fun with lovely people.
A great day at York for the Northern Counties Metric Clout. Warm, dry, with very little wind – were we really in Yorkshire? Katrina Horton, Tracy Cross and Chris Eccles won the Longbow County Team Award for Cheshire; Katrina, Steve Williams and I won the Longbow Club Team Award. Cheshire archers won overall on the day.
Last day at the Triclout and the weather was a bit kinder today for the Metric, a bit blowy and some light showers but much better than Saturday & Sunday. Katrina Horton, Chris Eccles and I won the Longbow Team Trophy, although Steve Williams could also have been in the team as he got the same score as me. I hadn’t shot well all weekend but thanks to some good advice from Chris at afternoon sighters I managed to score 21 more points in the afternoon compared to the morning! It was also great to see Keith Ledson at his first Triclout.
A good day for the Longbow Club at the Tri-Clout, with the One-way Imperial Clout (the Cheshire Championships). Chris Eccles was the Cheshire Gents Longbow Champion; Steve Williams was 2nd Cheshire Gent Longbow; Katrina Horton was 2nd Cheshire Lady Longbow; Chris, Steve and Nina won the Longbow Horn Team Trophy.
Elaine Jobson also had a great day with a 3 Clout end! Not bad with a longbow on a windy day!
A lovely day at Samlesbury Archers for their BLBS Clout. The weather forcast was for thunder and lightening but we escaped that and the rain.
Congratulations to Katrina Horton, winner of the Double Clout and Most Clouts, and to Chris Eccles, winner of the First Clout. Katrina and Chris also won £1.50 each on the clout sweep.
Thank you to Pendle and Samlesbury Archers for a great day and the team at Preston Grasshoppers for the fabulous steak pie lunch.
A great weekend of Clout with Eagle Bowmen. The weather was fabulous, although lightening was forecast for the Sunday, we managed to avoid it.

Alison Williams was 3rd Cheshire Longbow Lady, Katrina Horton was 2nd Cheshire Longbow Lady and Chris Eccles was 3rd Cheshire Longbow Gent.
Steve, Katrina and Alison won the Club Team Longbow Award.
